The week of December 8th, Talbot County Public School students celebrated Computer Science Education Week by participating in a global event designed to spark interest in learning computer science. The event, called The Hour of Code, was designed to teach students of all ages the basics of computer programming. Talbot’s teachers, used the website code.org, to lead students, from kindergarten through high school, in programming Angry Birds, or Frozen’s Anna and Elsa, or through introductory lessons using programming languages such as Lightbot, Javascript or Python.
Students in 6th through 12th grade then took a brief survey to determine whether there is enough interest in the field to implement a new course of study in Computer Science.
