The Tilghman Watermen’s Museum is introducing a series of Tilghman Island Christmas ornaments. The inaugural design features the Knapps Narrows Bridge which connects Tilghman Island to the rest of the world and is known as the busiest drawbridge in the USA. The 2014 ornament was crafted by Salisbury Pewter from a photograph taken by island resident Peggy O’Keefe.
The ornament can be purchased on TIlghman at Two if by Sea Café, Black Walnut Point Inn, Harrison’s Chesapeake House and the Tilghman Watermen’s Museum; in St. Michaels at Calico Toys and Frivolous Fibers; or by visiting the Museum’s online gift shop at www.tilghmanmuseum.org.
The Tilghman Watermen’s Museum is a (501 c3) not for profit, all volunteer organization celebrating the Island’s heritage. All proceeds from the sales of the ornament support the restoration of the historic Lee House to become the new home of the museum opening in 2015.
