Tilghman Watermen’s Museum (TWM) is proud to annouce they have produced a limited edition of local artist and waterman William E. Cummings’ prints. They are now offering canvas giclee reproductions of 16 of his works-only 100 copies of each. A complete portfolio of these prints is available through the Museum.
Bill Cummings is a self-taught artist who paints from his memories of growing up on Tilghman’s Island and his experiences working on the water for 67 years. His art reflects his life and captures the island’s heritage and natural beauty. Each painting tells a story from Cummings’ history, a story he wants to share so people can know and appreciate a vanishing way of life. As he puts it, “My art was my life.”
TWM was founded in 2008 founded to honor Tilghman’s hard working watermen and their culture. Preserving and promoting Bill Cummings art is part of that mission. The Museum, according to Executive Director Hall Kellogg, wants “the rest of the world to discover what this tiny island has known for ages- the talent of Bill Cummings.”
