Tilghman Watermen’s Museum’s Annual SPLENDOR Returns April 16

April 12, 2016 by Tilghman Watermen’s Museum

“Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”  That’s what one lucky bidder will be saying on April 16 when he or she wins 4 box seats for the Baltimore Orioles v. L. A. Angels game on April 28, together with a parking pass, at SPLENDOR, an annual event to benefit the Tilghman Watermen’s Museum.

Or, you might want to bid on a building assessment, or a 4 course wine pairing dinner at the Town Dock.  There are several unique pieces of jewelry, original and Giclee artwork by local artists Rose Garvin, Colleen Sadler, and the late Bill Cummings.  There are several stunning photos by local photographers including a photo print by Jay Fleming and a copy of his newly published book of photographs.

How about a week in September on the coast of Maine (September 17-24), a two-night getaway in a deluxe room at the Inn at Perry Cabin, or a canvasback duck decoy, carved by Ben Annis of Parksley, VA.  A new highlight of this year’s auction is a gourmet Italian and wine pairing dinner for 8 prepared and served by yourSPLENDOR hosts at an exclusive water view venue here on the island.

Oh, yes, and did I mention…..a turkey?  Celebrate the holidays this year with a fresh  Thanksgiving turkey raised on Tilghman or a visit to your home by Santa during the Christmas season.

SPLENDOR  will be Saturday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Tilghman Fire Hall. A variety of fine wines, a raw bar, and hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Characters at the Bridge, Chesapeake Landing,  Harrison’s,  and Two If By Sea.

Admission is $35 per person, and tickets are available at Two if by Sea Cafe, at the door or by contacting the museum at 410-886-2930 or [email protected].
