Ornithologist to Present “The Dark of the Loon” at the Easton Library

On Monday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Dr. Paul Spitzer will discuss the migration and winter ecology of that most iconic and haunting of birds, the Common Loon.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register to attend this program.  For more information, please call the library at 410-822-1626, or visit www.tcfl.org.

St. Michaels Library Lunch & Learn Program: Maryland Sports History

On Monday, April 1, at noon, in the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Jeff Korman—retired manager of the Enoch Pratt Free Library’s Maryland Department—will bring his Maryland Sports History challenge to St. Michaels, sharing stories of Maryland’s iconic sports teams and the great athletes who have played for them.  This program includes images of historic events, places, teams, and personalities.  The Lunch and Learn series is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, coffee and dessert will be provided.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register to attend this program.  For more information, please call the library at 410-745-5877, or visit www.tcfl.org.

Read with Wally, a Pet on Wheels Therapy Dog

On Monday, April 1, at  at 3:30 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library invites children to bring a book or choose one from the library’s shelves to read with Ms. Maggie Gowe and her dog, Wally.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register to attend this program.  For more information, please call the library at 410-745-5877, or visit www.tcfl.org.

Easton Library to Offer Advanced Excel Class

On Wednesday, April 3, from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m., computer training specialist Rita Hill will teach an Advanced Excel Class.  If you already feel pretty confident in your Excel skills, Hill will show you how the pros use it.  Bring your own PC laptop or just sit and observe (no Macs please). St. Michaels Library to Offer STEM Program

On Wednesday, April 3, at 3:30 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program entitled “We Are Builders for children 6 – 12.  Children will build with Legos and foam blocks.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register to attend this program.  For more information, please call the library at 410-745-5877, or visit www.tcfl.org.

Easton Library to Host (Free!) Family Law Assistance

On Thursday, April 4, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, a lawyer will be available to provide free consultation on a first-come, first-served basis on how to represent yourself and complete forms for: divorce, custody, visitation, child support, name change, guardianship, adoption, and juvenile expungement.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register to attend this program.  For more information, please call the library at 410-822-1626, or visit www.tcfl.org.

St. Michaels Library to Host Adult Arts & Crafts Program

On Thursday, April 4, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library invites patrons to bring their own needlework projects, Zentangle pens, coloring books, or anything else that fuels their passion for being creative.  Limited instruction will be available for needlework.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register to attend this program.  For more information, please call the library at 410-745-5877, or visit www.tcfl.org.

Award-Winning Author to Read at St. Michaels Library

On Thursday, April 4, at 5:00 p.m., in the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Barbara Lockhart will give a reading from “The Night Is Young,” her new collection of short stories.  Lockhart has used the Eastern Shore as the setting for her two novels, “Requiem for a Summer Cottage” and the award-winning “Elizabeth’s Field,” as well as in “The Night Is Young.”  With lyrical prose, she captures the flavor of the land and its people, ordinary folk living in small towns and on farms in both today and in the past.  All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register to attend this program.  For more information, please call the library at 410-745-5877, or visit www.tcfl.org.
