St. Michaels Library Lunch & Learn Program: Maryland Sports History
On Monday, April 1, at noon, in the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Jeff Korman—retired manager of the Enoch Pratt Free Library’s Maryland Department—will bring his Maryland Sports History challenge to St. Michaels, sharing stories of Maryland’s iconic sports teams and the great athletes who have played for them. Award-Winning Author to Read at St. Michaels Library
On Thursday, April 4, at 5:00 p.m., in the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Barbara Lockhart will give a reading from “The Night Is Young,” her new collection of short stories. Lockhart has used the Eastern Shore as the setting for her two novels, “Requiem for a Summer Cottage” and the award-winning “Elizabeth’s Field,” as well as in “The Night Is Young.” With lyrical prose, she captures the flavor of the land and its people, ordinary folk living in small towns and on farms in both today and in the past.
