On Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14, at 2:00 PM Susan Jones will speak at the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library on “Words of Love and Music of Romance.”
Ms. Jones’ program will celebrate love using music, original verse, and narration. You will hear Ms. Jones play the clarinet and piano. You will learn about Robert Schumann, hear a set of romances he wrote, and be treated to interesting words of love presented in the format of original verse. The program will also include a famous aria by Mozart on the topic of love.
After earning a degree in German from Portland State University, Jones spent 14 years playing with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra. She earned a Masters Degree in Library Science and worked as a corporate librarian. Susan began writing verse and was encouraged to publish her work. Jones has now followed that advice and her books will be available for purchase at her presentation.
She and her husband Bob live on an island in the Chesapeake Bay.
You can find information about the program at www.tcfl.org or by calling the library at 410-745-5877. All library programs are free and open to the public.
