Talbot County Visual Arts Center is holding a 5 day workshop watercolor workshop with instructor, Sandy Alanko, on June 18th-June 22nd, from 10 am-12:30 pm each day. This workshop is open to the public.
Sandy Alanko is an outstanding Tilghman island artist. Sandy’s paintings reflect her love of nature. She finds endless inspiration in the salt marshes, fields, woods and harbors that surround her island home.
Ms. Alanko has a Master’s in Fine Art; she studied Renaissance Art in Florence, Italy, and taught art in public and private schools for over 30 years. Sandy is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. She shows and sells her work locally, regionally and internationally.
Using demonstrations and special exercises, the instructor will show each student how to control the watercolor medium and how to develop a pleasing composition. The student will paint a small still life set-up in the classroom. Everyone will paint a landscape or another subject of student’s choice. Members of the Talbot County Visual Arts Center cost is $120 and non-members cost will be $150. Students will be sent a supply list upon enrollment. This class will be held at Talbot County Visual Arts Center located in Talbot Town Shopping Center behind Piazza, The Italian Market.
