Art has long been a cultural bridge between countries with political differences. Recently, Walt Bartman has led groups to Cuba to bridge differences and paint the unique scenes. He will speak on these experiences at a free talk, “Unlocking Cuba with a Paint Brush” at 7 PM on Thursday evening, July 10 at the St. Michaels Branch of the Talbot County Free Library.
Mr. Bartman is both a local resident, having a home and studio on Tilghman Island, and a force in the arts in the Washington, DC area. He is the founder of the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo Park, MD, the Griffin Art Center, Frederick , MD, and the Hummingbird Art Centre, Elbow Cay, Bahamas. He is listed in the Art and artist files in the Hirschhorn Museum Library Collection. Specializing in landscape and figure painting, he is known as one of Maryland’s finest painting teachers.
