For those who do not know, there is a creek that flows in pipes under the Town of Easton (TOE). This creek is called the Tanyard Branch. Drew Koslow, Choptank Riverkeeper, presented the Tanyard Branch Watershed Plan to the Town Council on February 4, 2013. The Tanyard Branch Watershed Plan was prepared in partnership with the TOE, Washington College and the Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy. The purpose of the plan is to assess conditions in the Tanyard Branch, to identify sources of nutrients and to recommend a prioritized list of retrofit projects. If these projects are implemented, the health of the Tanyard Branch and the North Fork of the Tred Avon River would improve significantly. Three projects from the plan are being implemented by Easton and partners.
1) A floating wetlands demonstration project on the Bay St. Ponds being constructed by Talbot County.
2) Demonstration rain gardens and bioswales around Talbot County offices (by Talbot County Master Gardeners)
3) A Tree buffer planting on Tanyard Branch on the town owned RTC Property (by Talbot County and Town of Easton.)
These projects will count towards Talbot County’s Watershed Implementation Plan.
This project was funded by a grant from the EPA Chesapeake Bay Program Office, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and the Chesapeake Bay Trust through the Watershed Assistance Grant Program.

It would be really interesting to see a map of exactly where the Tanyard Branch flows– and where it starts from.
