As part of the 2012 Plein Air festivities, the Wye Operetta Workshop will be forming Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore three evenings at the Avalon Theatre, July 20, 21 and 22.

The Wye Operetta Workshop, known as WOW! has developed a growing following since its inception in 2008. Popular performances in the past have drawn full houses to see these young singers present a full production of a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta with elaborate sets and beautiful costumes.

As part of the programs offered at the Wye Conservatory of Music, WOW! Is a month-long summer program providing an enriching experience by introducing young people to classical theatre. This learning opportunity is free to the students as are the productions to the audience and are funded by donations and the Friends of Music at Wye. The Wye Conservatory of Music’s other programs include the Wye Choral Scholars, the Wye Concert Series and the Wye Youth Chorale.
