The successful “Y-Talks” speaker series finishes out the year with an incredible line up of speakers. The talks are held every third Friday at 7pm at the Easton Family YMCA in the Thomas E. Hill Center for Youth Development, also known as the Teen Center. The Y-Talks speaker series brings intimate conversations to our local community. Join the conversation.
Friday, October 17th welcome speaker Nick Panuzio. Nick Panuzio lives in St. Michaels, after years working in the administration as a close advisor to President Gerald R. Ford. He tells of being in the administration during the generation that brought our men home from Vietnam. Mr. Panuzio was appointed Deputy Administrator of the General Services Administration and Commissioner of Public Buildings by President Gerald R. Ford. He was responsible for construction, leasing, management and protection of all federal buildings. As United States Commissioner of Public Buildings, he was responsible for overseeing the national program for the United States General Services Administration (GSA).
Friday, November 21st photographer Tom McCall shares his stories of shooting national political figures, celebrities and socialites, million dollar weddings and best of the best events. Tom sits in the ranks of elite fine art photographers. From high society weddings to stunning individual and family portraits, McCall has a unique gift that enables him to capture beautiful scenery, people’s spirits and inspiring stories through exceptional photojournalism. McCall’s work has appeared in Town & Country Magazine and The Premier Look Book. McCall is able to capture any emotion with ease, from the natural smile of a child to the leadership essence of a corporate executive to the simplicity and complexity of a moment in time.
Friday, December 19th author Judith (Judy) Reveal is a published author of the Lindsey Gale Mystery Series, set on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. She also published The Brownstone, an historical novel set in a New York Brownstone during World War II. In addition to fiction she has published Around Greensboro, an Arcadia Press pictorial of Greensboro, MD, and her most recent work is a nonfiction work on creative writing, The Four Elements of Fiction, Character, Setting, Situation, and Theme. She is also currently in the final stages of the fourth in her mystery series – The Sisters Grimm. Ms. Reveal is a freelance copyeditor and has worked with clients in the United States, South Africa, Australia, Canada, and Israel. She writes book reviews for the New York Journal of Books, and is past president of the Eastern Shore Writers Association as well as the Maryland Writers’ Association. She is currently the co-coordinator for the 17th Annual Bay To Ocean Writers Conference to be held in February, 2015.
