    My husband looked at this photo and believes that the gentleman in the white chief’s helmet is his grandfather, Alex Helmer. The building they are standing in front of is not the firehouse but, he believes that it is the original Easton high school.

    This is the East end of the Cordova High School, which became the Cordova Elementary School. The auditorium is just visible to the right, and the swings and playground were to the left. This photo was taken probably prior to 1955. When I went to school there, the parking lot where the fire truck is was tar and chip.
