Memo from ShoreRivers: Have a Great Holiday Weekend but No Swimming Please

September 4, 2021 by Spy Desk

Share

All of our ShoreRiver sites on the Miles, Wye, and Choptank Rivers failed this week. These are the highest levels we have ever seen. The rains and high winds really made an impact. Only 3 of the 21 sites passed this week in the northern regions as well.

Tunis Mills- 1112, Fail
Matapeake- 5172, Fail
Drum Point- 717, Fail
MRYC- 369, Fail
Claiborne Beach- 1112, Fail
Claiborne Cove- 7701, Fail

Even though it is a beautiful weekend, ShoreRivers would recommend not swimming this weekend In our local waters.

So let’s build 2500 homes in Trappe that should help fix it.

Hey, if you can’t go in the water, we may as well live/near on it and be able to look at it.

Of course I could guess that the failure referenced was based on a health standard but it would be helpful in any case to be informed just what was that these bodies of water actually failed. Let’s not keep it a secret.

    Highest levels of what?

What did the rivers fail? Is there something poisonous in the water? Is the tide too high?
