The Trippe-Hilderbrandt Gallery at 23 N Harrison St in historic Easton will be celebrating its second anniversary with a special exhibition opening on November 6 during the First Friday Gallery Walk.
Gallery owner Nanny Trippe will be exhibiting personal favorites from her fine art photographs. “Most of my favorite images have been of trees-I love their many qualities from the texture of the bark to the filtering of morning or evening light to their seasonal stature”, says Trippe. “I spent a lot of time as a child walking and playing in the woods with my dog or on horseback and I feel a natural affinity for that setting. It is also poignant to focus on my tree images as that was the theme of the first joint display of my photographs and the paintings of Don Hilderbrandt back at the Tidewater Studios in 2009. There was a great deal of positive response to our collaboration and here we are 8 years later still collaborating!”
In addition, the gallery will be welcoming Ellen Gavin, an award winning artist from Milville, New Jersey. Gavin has been juried into Easton’s Plein Air competition 5 times and in 2010 won the”Vasari Classic Artist Oil Color Award”. Painting either on location”Plein Air” across the United States or in her Green Boots Studio, Gavin produces fine original oil paintings. With a broad interest in subjects, she is nationally recognized as an equestrian painter. On location, she paints Plein Air landscapes and cityscapes, and her “Small Idea” paintings have allowed success in the realm of miniatures while still executed in a loose painterly style.
There will be a celebratory opening reception from 5-8 Friday November 6.
