Author to Speak on Women’s History Month Subject at St. Michaels Library
On Monday, March 4, at noon, in honor of Women’s History Month, the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will host a “Lunch & Learn” talk by Dr. Kathleen Sander on the subject of her book, “Mary Elizabeth Garrett: Society and Philanthropy in the Gilded Age.” A Baltimore philanthropist and businesswoman, Garrett forever changed American medicine and the way physicians were educated in the United States by starting the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1893, the nation’s first coeducational, graduate-level medical school. The Lunch and Learn series is sponsored by the Friends of the Library; coffee and dessert will be provided.All library programs are free and open to the public. Children to Read with a Pet on Wheels Therapy Dog at St. Michaels Library

School Superintendent to Report to Public on Easton Elementary School Replacement Project
On Wednesday, March 6, at 6:00 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Dr. Kelly Griffith, Superintendent of Schools, Kevin Shafer, Talbot County Public Schools Plant Operations Manager, and Logan Street, Whiting Turner Project Manager, will update the public on the Easton Elementary School Replacement Project. Attendees will learn about the current status of the project and participate in a virtual tour of the completed building, which will serve as both an educational facility and a community resource.
