In recognition of the financial hardship faced by citizens in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, at its April 28 meeting, the Talbot County Council took action. The Council approved the acceptance of partial payments for sewer bills, approved waiving interest and penalties on all sewer bills from April through December 2020 and the acceptance of partial payments for property tax bills.
According to Angela Lane, Talbot County Director of Finance, “Due dates for Real Property Tax bills will remain the same, however, partial payments will be accepted for Real Property Tax bills received by property owners on or about July 1, 2020.”
Corey Pack, President of the Talbot County Council, adds, “We want Talbot County residents to know we are sensitive to the economic hardships they are experiencing due to COVID-19 and we want to work with them to make these payments.”
