Traditionally the first weekend in December has been ‘Christmas on the Creek’ in Oxford, with the lighting of holiday decorations, concerts, holiday shopping sales, teas, and breakfast with Santa and more. A big part of the weekend has always been the Holy Trinity Christmas Bazaar. People lined up before the doors opened to get their pick of the unique, handmade Christmas Wreaths, primarily made by members of the Oxford Garden Club. Out of concerns for the health and safety of residents and volunteers during the pandemic, the Bazaar is not happening in 2020. The Oxford Business Association stepped in to help fill the void and, working with Oxford nonprofits, has put together an online, pre-order Wreath Sale. Member organizations have each designed unique wreaths that will be available for online ordering through the Business Association website until November 29. Photos of each design prototype will be on the website, and several have options such as bow color. During the first week of December volunteers will don their Santa Elf hats and produce the wreaths for contactless, drive-thru pick-up on Saturday, December 5th, at the Oxford Community Center between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM. Proceeds from the sales will go to each organization. Participating organizations are The Oxford Museum, The Oxford Garden Club, The Oxford Fire Co. Auxiliary and The Oxford Community Center.
