For the record, this will not be the last Spy interview with Talbot County Council member Corey Pack, but it is the last one in his capacity as its president. This month, he has transitioned out of that role, and fellow Council member Chuck Callahan will be sitting in that seat.
In his interview, Corey talks about the impact that COVID-19 has had on Talbot County. He also talks about the Council’s leadership for the past ten months and how the community has learned some valuable lessons in managing the pandemic.
Corey is the first to note that one of the year’s highlights was the successful passage of Questions A, B, C, and D in the November election. But he also comments on the disappointment that the Council could not reach a unanimous solution for the Talbot Boys statue. And he also offers kind farewells to county employees leaving long-held positions.
This video is approximately seventeen minutes in length.
Stephen Hunter says
The most controversial issue of 2020 in local politics was ignored in this interview… In July, the Talbot County Council voted unanimously – with one abstention – to reverse its decision to send a letter to the Maryland Congressional Delegation in support of the very controversial U.S. House of Representatives bill H.R. 7120 to reform policing… The one person who abstained was Mr. Pack… For those who do not know about this matter, please watch the Talbot County Council meeting from June 23rd on YouTube… Then watch the council meeting from July 14th when Sherrif Gamble addressed the council about the issue… You will see that we are beyond lucky to have a professional like Joe Gamble in his elected position….
Talbot Spy, why is there no mention of this in your “Year In Review”?…
