Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) today announced the expansion of its urogynecology services to the
Eastern Shore. Urogynecologist Briana Walton, MD, with AAMC Women’s Center for Pelvic Health, is now accepting new patients at 505 Dutchmans Lane, Suites A3-A4, in Easton.
Dr. Walton will see patients at the Dutchmans Lane location until the buildout of the AAMC Pavilion – Easton. The new health care pavilion was announced in October 2016 and is scheduled to open in Waterside Village next to BJs in 2018. As an urogynecologist, Dr. Walton is experienced and skilled in diagnosing and treating women with all conditions related to female pelvic organs and pelvic floor issues.
She explains that the practice of urogynecology is designed to provide a complete approach to women’s pelvic health. “The term ‘urogynecology’ may be new to some, but the medical practice has been around for decades,” says Dr. Walton. “As an urogynecologist, I provide women a single source for their pelvic health concerns. I am proud to offer services to patients in Easton. Patients can save a trip across the bridge for an office visit, and rest assured in personalized treatment plans driven by their needs.”
AAMC Women’s Center for Pelvic Health has offices in Annapolis, Bowie and Odenton. The opening of its Easton location will provide women on the Eastern Shore with a more convenient location and easier access to a pelvic health specialist. Dr. Walton will continue to perform surgeries at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Dr. Walton is the director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the AAMC Women’s Center for Pelvic Health. She joined the AAMC medical staff in 2008 and is recognized as an expert in minimally invasive surgery, and treatment of fibroids, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
Prior to joining AAMC, Dr. Walton was the director of benign gynecology at Washington Hospital Center and was an adjunct assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology and urology at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Walton received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and was invited to be the first fellow in the division of urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at Harvard Medical School/Mount Auburn Hospital.
