Representatives from three colleges: The Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC; the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA; and the Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) in Wilmington, DE.

High school students interested in a career in art and design, their parents, and educators are encouraged to attend this event. Students should bring a portfolio to receive feedback and pointers from the college representatives. Participants will find out the secrets to building a winning portfolio for art school, as well as learn what a career in art has to offer. There are a variety of careers in art today, including art administration, architecture, art education, computer graphics, design, fashion, graphic design, illustration, industrial and business design, photography, and video and film.

The Academy Art Museum’s Portfolio Night will be held during the Museum’s Annual Mid-Shore Student Art Exhibition for high school students.

Reservations for Portfolio Night are required. For further information, visit www.academyartmuseum.org or call 410-822-2787.

Sounds like a wonderful event to encourage growth in this amazing field. My niece is a very talented artist and I would love to see her pursue a career in the graphic art industry.
