We are all proud that AAUW played a role in promoting the new legislation for equal pay in Maryland. Governor Hogan signed SB 481/HB 1003 The Equal Pay bill on May 19, 2016. This law, supported by Senator Eckardt, is a major step toward closing the pay gap that affects so many women in the state of Maryland, will also be addressed. We know that equal pay is not simply a women’s issue, it is a family issue and an economic issue
