Children’s book author, Kristina Henry, will speak at the Academy for Lifelong Learning on Monday November 14 at 10:30 am at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Six weeks before Christmas a perfect time to learn about two great picture books. “Sam: The Tale of a
Chesapeake Bay Rockfish”, a wonderful treasure of a book is about a carefree rockfish who loves to eat. “The Fish Tank” which is written in haiku with bold color illustrations, explores the concept of living together peacefully and happily. Tropical fish in many shapes, colors and sizes dwell in a murky aquarium. In their world, they either fight or hide to survive. When a newcomer arrives and cleans the glass tank, the fish see things clearly for the first time.
Kristina Henry’s writing has appeared in The Washington Post and The Washingtonian magazine. She is also the author of the children’s books Sam: The Tale Of A Chesapeake Bay Rockfish, The Fish Tank, The Turtle Tank and The Rat Tank. A graduate of Washington College, Henry has worked as a technical writer, public relations coordinator and substitute teacher
in Talbot County. She lives with her husband Mike in Easton.
