St. Michaels’ American Holiday Home store owner, Timothy Law, recently hosted a gala evening of fund raising benefiting the Woman’s Club of St. Michaels. Door prizes donated by many St. Michaels’ merchants were awarded throughout the evening while guests enjoyed wine and hor d’oeuvres. Local artist Jeremy Joseph painted a work of art during the event which was auctioned at evening’s end.
All proceeds from the event support the many charities of the Woman’s Club of St. Michaels, including $6000 in scholarships awarded annually to one or more graduates of St. Michaels High School. An additional $1500 will be awarded this year to a Talbot County resident attending Chesapeake College’s Skilled Trades program. The Woman’s Club provides volunteers and cash donations to approximately twenty local charities.
