Professional baker Tricia King understands how hard it can be to find gluten free desserts that really satisfy your sweet tooth. Gluten intolerant herself, as head baker and owner of Patisserie Patrice in downtown Easton, Tricia has managed to perfect many a gluten free treat for her customers. Each morning she is elbow deep in batter and dough preparing various desserts and daily breakfast pastries. Not all are gluten free, but if gluten free is what you want, you’ll discover a tasty selection here. “Some of our most popular items are brownies, lemon bars, and cookies, especially my gluten free version of an ‘Oreo’ cookie”, says Tricia. “The breakfast crowd tends to go for the muffins,” she adds.
The Patisserie also serves sandwiches on Udi’s gluten free bread or bagels. Wedding cakes and other specialty items can be made to order and catering is also available. Children’s cooking classes – yes, they include gluten free recipes – are held at the shop on Saturday mornings through the winter months.
Always experimenting and adding delicious new baked goods to the menu, this hidden gem is well worth a visit. Patisserie Patrice is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:00 pm and is located just behind 28 S. Washington Street (at Lazy Lunch) in Easton. 410-770-3447.
