Bosley Brangier is hosting a fund raising event benefiting the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank of Talbot County, Thursday March 21, 2013 from 5:30 – 7 p.m.. Our guest artist is Henrietta Talfourd Jones. She is an amazing dressmaker who also makes fantastic tote and hand bags.
Henrietta is bringing a selection of her bags to sell during this event and will be taking orders for custom made bags. The bags are made with today’s woman in mind. There are pockets for every need, many have a pocket for a tablet computer or reader. They are made using home decorating fabrics and trims, with 6- 8 brass feet on their bottoms to prevent them from sitting directly on the floor when put down.
One of the bags is designed as a diaper and traveling bag – half the bag is for baby and the other half is for Mom. “I love this bag as it takes your regular diaper bag and ‘kicks it up a notch’, not forgetting, remove the stroller straps and you have a gorgeous travel bag,” describes Talfourd Jones. ” After doing much research, I thought that adding removable stroller straps would make this bag a little more versatile, so these can be clipped on & off using the trigger snaps.”
The prices range from $126 – $270. 10% of her sales will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul.
The Society was founded in 1833 in Paris France, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international organization whose mission is “To see in those in need the face of Christ.” Locally, SVDP is part of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish. There are over 200 volunteers who work out of their 5,000 square foot facility on Canvasback Drive in Easton. They help individuals and families in Talbot County, Maryland. The society operates a food pantry, thrift center–with used clothing, housewares and furniture–and provide financial assistance, for clients needing money for rent, utility bills, medical costs and other expenses.
St. Vincent de Paul is completely volunteer run. There is no paid staff.
