Bountiful Interiors & Komen Maryland Team Up to Fight Breast Cancer

September 21, 2018 by Spy Desk

For the fourth year, Bountiful Interiors will partner with Susan G. Komen Maryland to host a community event that raises awareness about breast cancer and helps fund the organization’s ongoing battle to eradicate it. On Friday, October 5th from 5:30 to 7:30p.m., Bountiful will host The Pink Party at its store located at 218 N. Washington Street in Easton’s Talbot Town Shopping Center. The event is free and open to all.

Jamie Merida, owner of Bountiful Interiors, said, “This is an event that is dear to our hearts. Breast cancer has affected our staff, our customers, and our friends. There is a way to stop this devastating disease in its tracks and we want to be a part of that solution. The Pink Party is an opportunity to support the work of Susan G. Komen Maryland by ‘shopping for the cause.’” Merida said Bountiful Interiors will donate 20% of all of the retail sales during the event to Susan G. Komen Maryland to support local grant, educational, and survivorship programs.

The event will also feature a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and favorite Bountiful Interiors vendors. The Linden Spa at Inn at Perry Cabin is donating a gift certificate, and Trowbridge Gallery is donating a large, pink-themed print. Jon Bresler, CEO of LAFCO New York, is attending the event and donating products from the company’s high-end fragrance line. LAFCO will also be providing a free gift with any LAFCO purchase. Pink-themed cocktails will be served, and Chef Steven Anthony of Turnbridge Point will provide light snacks.

Lori Yates, Eastern Shore Manager for Susan G. Komen Maryland, said, “We are grateful to Bountiful Interiors for inviting its customers and the public to this fun, celebratory event. Statistics show that one in eight women will face a diagnosis of breast cancer in her lifetime. In 2018, an estimated 5,250 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in Maryland alone. Some of those victims will be men and Komen Maryland includes them in its community grant programs as well. Everyone in the community can count on The Pink Party not only for a great evening, but also as an opportunity to learn about the most current breast health research and information.”
