For the second year, Bountiful Interiors will partner with Susan G. Komen Maryland to create a community event that raises awareness about breast cancer and helps to fund the organization’s ongoing battle to eradicate it. On Friday, October 7th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Bountiful will host a “Pink Champagne & Sweets” event at the store, which is located at 218 N. Washington Street in Easton’s Talbot Town Shopping Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Jamie Merida, Bountiful’s owner says: “Bountiful is kicking off “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” with an event that celebrates survivors and informs the rest of us about the nature of the disease and the progress that the scientific community has made towards finding a cure. Our event is also an opportunity to support the work of Susan G. Komen Maryland by ‘shopping for the cause.’ As is our custom, 20% of all of the retail sales made during the event will be donated to Susan G. Komen Maryland to support local grant, educational, and survivorship programs.
“We are also delighted to announce that The Inn at Perry Cabin has joined our team this year,” Merida continues. “The Inn’s generous donation of a two night stay at their world class resort, worth at least $1,500.00, will be raffled off at the event with the proceeds also going to Komen Maryland. We will also be raffling a dazzling bracelet from one of our newest vendors, Addison Weeks as a second prize. These beautiful cuffs retail for $300.00 and we guarantee that you’ll be proud to wear it anywhere. “
Lori Yates, Community Health Manager for the Eastern Shore & Southern Maryland, says: “We are extremely grateful to Bountiful Interiors for inviting their customers and the public to this fun, celebratory event. Statistics show that one in eight women will face a diagnosis of breast cancer in her lifetime. In 2016, an estimated 4,880 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in Maryland alone. No matter who you are or where you live, understanding this disease is important. But the most important thing to know is this: Breast cancer can be treated and a diagnosis is not a death sentence.”
