Talbot County residents are invited to an Open House on Monday, July 14th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to observe the 5th Anniversary of Brookletts Place, the Talbot County Senior Center. The community is invited to tour the Center, see exhibits by the art and craft classes, and knitters. Some items will be for sale. Tours of the building will be given by The Friends of Brookletts. After 3:00 p.m. the Bay Country Chorus, whose “home base” is Brookletts Place, will perform. Cake and punch will be served from Noon until 5:00 p.m. Raffle tickets are available for a bushel of crabs, with gift basket, to benefit Meals On Wheels.
Owned by Talbot County and managed by Upper Shore Aging, Inc., the facility serves over 3,500 seniors 60 and older. As an Active Senior Center, Brookletts Place offers Exercise, Recreation, Education Classes, Information and Assistance services and trips, both day and overnight. Lunch is served at the Center Monday through Thursday. Membership is free.
