The Tidewater Camera Club will be hosting a seminar entitled “Beyond Ordinary” presented by professional photographer Corey Hilz on Monday, November 7, from 7-9 pm in the Wye Oak Room at the Talbot County Community Center, Easton.
Corey specializes in nature and travel photography and finds that the diversity in nature and cultures around the world offer boundless opportunities for new images and for images with fresh perspective. His work can be seen in magazines, books, calendars, catalogs and art galleries. Corey is recognized as a Lensbaby Guru and has recently published Lensbaby: Bending Your Perspective, as well as books focusing on digital workflow with Photoshop and Aperture. He offers classes in DC and leads workshops to locations in the US and abroad (see www.coreyhilz.com).
During his seminar, Corey will share how he uses his vision to create photographs that go beyond the ordinary image. He will teach techniques to help push your photography forward and will show you how to elevate your imagery beyond documentary, well-captured photos to ones that stretch your creativity. It’s key to know when to take the photo (and when not to), as well as visualize how you want to represent your subject. Corey will share how he approaches subjects in search of creating something new.
The seminar is open to the public. Please check the club website, www.tidewatercameraclub.com, or contact Janet at 410-901-2223 for more information or changes in venue.
