Christmas in St. Michaels’ financial chairman, Linda Seemans, recently presented checks to the St. Michaels-area non-profit organizations selected as beneficiaries of the December 2014 fund-raising event.
She presented checks to representatives of the following organizations: CarePacks of TalbotCounty – St. Michaels and Tilghman, Character Counts Mid Shore, Inc., Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers – St. Michaels Site, Imagination Library – Bay Hundred, Pickering Creek Audubon Center, St. Michaels High School After Prom, St. Michaels After School Help (SMASH), St. Michaels Community Center, St. Michaels Community Food Pantry, St. Michaels Fire Department, Talbot Humane – Bay Hundred, Talbot Partnership – Bay Hundred, Tilghman Area Youth Association, and Tilghman Watermen’s Museum. Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Classic Motor Museum of St. Michaels, Drew Landis Memorial Fireworks, St. Michaels Little League and Phillips Wharf Environmental Center were also 2014 beneficiaries and received their checks previously.
Bev Pratt, Christmas in St. Michaels Board president, said, “This is the largest number of organizations to which we have provided funds in a single year since the founding of Christmas in St. Michaels in 1987. It seems that the need for funding of non-profits that provide services and support to Bay Hundred children and families has grown over the years. The Board is extremely grateful for the tremendous amount of hard work by volunteers and support from the business community that have made it possible to continue to raise funds through our Christmas in St. Michaels event.”
Seemans announced that this year’s net profit was nearly $65,000. She said, “We’re very grateful that the community continues to participate in Christmas in St. Michaels activities each year so that we can help these worthy organizations in the Bay Hundred area.”
Christmas in St. Michaels will take place this year on December 11, 12 and 13, 2015.
