Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers is pleased to announce the appointment of three new directors to its esteemed board. Joining the board are Alexis Kramer, Dane Schriver and Brenda Wooden, all professionals with ties to the Easton area. Both Kramer and Wooden are alumni of the CACC board of directors.
“We are excited to welcome back Lex and Brenda back to the CACC family and to have Dane as part of our talented leadership team at CACC,” says Peggy Baker Rennels, MD, President, Board of Directors, CACC. “Their wealth of knowledge will be extremely valuable to CACC during an exciting time in our organization’s history.
Lex Kramer returns to the CACC board following his previous service to the organization, which ran from 2003-2013. A partner at Ewing, Dietz, Fountain & Kaludis, P.A. in Easton, Lex graduated from The Country School and Saints Peter and Paul High School. He also graduated from Loyola (B.A. 1985), Georgetown University (M.A. 1992), and University of Maryland (J.D. 1999). He served in the U.S. Naval Service, retiring in 2005 as a Lieutenant Commander. Lex has given to the community in a legal capacity through the Mid-Shore Pro Bono, Talbot County Pro Se Clinic and MSBA High School Mock Trial Program. Lex, his wife Mary, and their children live in Easton.
Brenda Wooden returns to the Board after her previous term ended in 2006. A graduate of Easton High School, she attended Chesapeake College and graduated in 2005 from the Maryland Banking School at The University of Maryland. Brenda is a Branch manager and 27 year employee with the Talbot Bank in Easton. She believes in giving back to her community, which is evident from her involvement with CACC, as well as, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Character Counts, Soroptimist Int’l, N.A.A.C.P., Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and the Frederick Douglass Honor Society. Brenda and her daughter Brianna live in Easton.
Dane Schriver is a first time CACC Board Member whose family has deep roots in education in Talbot County. A graduate of Easton High School and later Salisbury State University, he is a commercial banking officer at The Talbot Bank. His community activities include Talbot County Young Professionals, Tidewater Rotary, and a coach for youth baseball and soccer leagues in Kent Island. Dane looks forward to leading CACC in fundraising endeavors. Dane and his wife Sara live in Stevensville with their two young children.
“CACC has been blessed with a dedicated volunteers and leaders throughout our 45 years of existence and the addition of these three community leaders only strengthens what is an already tremendously talented board,” said Kris George, Executive Director, CACC. “I look forward to working with each of them as we embark on dreaming big for CACC’s next 45 years.”
CACC is a non-profit child care agency founded in 1970 as Easton Day Care. With five locations in Talbot County, CACC serves approximately 400 children annually ages 2-12 in preschool, pre-K, pre-K wrap, before and after school, and a ten-week summer program. Fully accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education, CACC received the highest possible rating of check level 5 from MSDE’s EXCELS voluntary tiered quality rating system.
