Come join us for an hour of American Humor with Oxford resident David Foster. Mr. Foster will be the guest speaker for a talk entitled the the “Magic of American Humor”, May 7th, noon, at the Brown Bag Lunch at the St. Michaels Branch of the Talbot County Free Library. Drawing on the works of Mark Twain, Ben Franklin, Will Rogers, James Thurber, Dorothy Parker, Langston Hughes, Groucho Marx, Garrison Keillor, Robert Benchley, Zora Neale Hurston, Sam Levenson, Erma Bombeck and a host of others, Foster illustrates how deeply and vitally humor is engrained in the American experience.
Throughout his career as a lawyer, political advocate and business executive, David Foster has pursued an amateur vocation in the theatre as an actor, director, producer and teacher of acting and stagecraft. He has served as past president of Oxford’s Tred Avon Players, and has appeared on its stage in many roles.
