On Thursday, May 18 2017, Donald Buxton, Executive Director of Chesapeake Music, will be guest speaker at the Friends of the Talbot County Free Library Brown Bag luncheon in Easton.
For the past 32 years, Chesapeake Music has evolved to become a leading performing arts organization in the region. This program, entitled “Evolution of Chesapeake Music” will explore the rich history of jazz and classical performing arts programs and concerts presenting the unrivaled artists of today. Chesapeake Music is comprised of the Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival in June, the Monty Alexander Jazz Festival over Labor Day weekend, the biennial International Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition and Youth Reach/First Strings, an educational outreach program. Please come to hear more about this exciting organization that had its start right here in Easton!!
The program will be held at the Easton Branch of the Talbot County Free Library at 12 noon. Guests are invited to bring their lunch. Beverages and desserts will be served. Don’t miss this wonderful discussion of some of the great music available to us right here on the Eastern Shore.
