This fall, Easton Choral Arts will present Haydn’s “The Creation” in the newly restored Christ Church in Easton. Joining the chorus are several soloists including soprano Danielle Tallamantes who was added to the Metropolitan opera roster in 2011 and starred as Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen this immediate past season. Also joining the cast is tenor Jason Rylander, whose work has been described by the Washington Post as “possessing warmth and emotional depth”, and bass-baritone Kerry Wilkerson who currently serves as the Enlisted Director of the U. S. Army Chorus. In December, the chorus will perform The Splendor of Christmas joined by orchestra, regional handbell ensemble Bells of the Bay, and soprano Georgiann Gibson. The season will conclude in the spring of 2016 with Will Todd’s Mass in Blue featuring one of D. C.’s preeminent jazz soloists, mezzo Lena Seikaly.
Easton Choral Arts is under the direction of Wes Lockfaw who is also music director at Christ Church in Easton. Mr. Lockfaw whose choirs were featured in 2014 at Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, Virginia is also director of the Christ Church Concert Series and the Dean of the Mid-Shore Maryland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
