The Easton Choral Arts Society, under the direction of Maestro Wes Lockfaw, opens its 38th concert season with a performance of Haydn’s choral masterpiece, The Creation, on Friday, October 30 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, November 1 at 4:00 PM at St Mark’s United Methodist Church, 100 Peachblossom Road, Easton. Due to the ongoing construction of Christ Church Easton, it was necessary to change the venue for these performances. Joining the chorus will be international recitalist and opera star, soprano Danielle Talamantes who made an exciting stage debut last year, as Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen at The Metropolitan Opera.
She will be joined by tenor, Jason Rylander who has been praised by the Washington Post for his “strong, clear tenor” and for performances that “coupled sonorous warmth and emotional depth”, along with bass-baritone Kerry Wilkerson, who has sung with the professional choruses of the United States Air Force, United States Army, Carnegie Hall Choral Workshops and the critically acclaimed Robert Shaw Festival Singers. Accompanying the concert will be Dale Krider at the organ.
Tickets are $20 general admission and $5 for students. Tickets will be $25 at the door. Tickets are available at EastonChoralArts.org or 410-200-0498.
