Mayor Bob Willey, Ward 1 candidate Al Silverstein and Ward 3 candidate Ron Engle won in Easton’s Tuesday, May 5, election.
With a total of 1,626 voters going to the polls at the Easton Fire House yesterday, Willey won the vast majority of votes against former town council member Moonyene Jackson-Amis and write-in candidate Ad Duer.
There was a closer election in Ward 1, with Al Silverstein receiving 205 votes to Phillip Carey Foster’s 177.
To the surprise of many, it was Ward 3 that became the most dramatic of the evening with Ron Engle narrowingly defeating Duane Hilghman by only thirteen votes (322 vs. 309).
