Combining traditional and progressive music, North Carolina – based Molasses Creek performs Thursday, October 13 at the Avalon Theatre in Easton.
Molasses Creek’s humble beginnings arose amidst exotic fig trees and rich tidewater marshes of isolated Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. This high-energy acoustic group continues to win loyal followings with a captivating stage presence, elegant harmonies, blazing instrumentals, and a quirky sense of humor.
Award winners from Garrison Keillor’s “Prairie Home Companion,” Molasses Creek has recorded 11 albums and its members have been featured in Warner Brothers’ movie “Nights in Rodanthe,” have performed at presidential receptions, and is now appearing at the Avalon! Sing Out Magazine says “the band’s combination of harmony, humor, and love for the island they call home gives their work a distinct sound and vision.”
