“Imagine That” – digital graphics imagery and the photography of DL Callaway will be featured at the Tilghman Island Inn. The show will run from June 6 thru July 4, 2012. Come meet the artist at the opening reception on Sunday, June 10, 3-5pm. Included in the exhibit are regional images from landscapes to wildlife shown in a fanciful variety of digital darkroom techniques. Deborah’s photographs will also be on display, offering a view of some of her unaltered visions of the land, light, and life of the mid-atlantic.
DL “Deborah” Callaway has been showing her images in exhibits and festivals since 2008. Before then, photography had been a hobby until she was introduced to a digital graphics program in 2005. While using the program to extract photos from the camera, Deborah discovered the graphics functions and quickly realized a whole new world had opened. For the next 2 years, she began teaching herself to use a couple of different programs to build her digital darkroom. As Deborah manipulated her photos, it became clear the new images told new stories. Friends began encouraging her to show the artwork but it took another year before she agreed. It has been seven year now and she is still learning the programs – and the stories they can tell. Deborah has won awards for her images in shows at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, the Kent Island Federation of Arts, and the Muddy Creek Artists Guild in south Anne Arundel County. Her work is hanging long term at the Chez Amis B&B in Annapolis, and has appeared recently in the Café Artiste at the Easton News Center, the Queen Anne’s County Art Council Gallery in Centerville, and the Chestertown Arts League in Chestertown.
The Tilghman Island Inn is a popular eatery and meeting place, in addition to their lodgings and docks.
