The 7th Annual “Local Color” Exhibit and Sale will be held at the Tidewater Inn, located in downtown Easton, from Friday, July 19 through Sunday, July 21, 2013. Local Color features the best work of local artists in studio finished paintings depicting any subject matter. Local Color is sponsored by the Working Artists Forum, and is a primary component of the 9th Annual Plein Air–Easton! Competition & Arts Festival. The show includes paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel. Local Color is a juried and judged show open to artists residing on the Delmarva Peninsula and to members of the Working Artists Forum. The entry juror was Eric Bowman, Second Place winner in Plein Air–Easton! 2012.

Leslie Belloso, Fred Craig, Linda Kirvan, David Sutphen, and Dennis Young will be painting outdoors and explaining their individual techniques to audiences in the vicinity of the Tidewater Inn at various times during the Local Color show.
The awards judge will be Hiu Lai Chong, winner of the 2012 Plein Air–Easton! Grand Prize. Awards will be presented at a Judge’s Presentation and Reception on Friday, July 19, from 12-1pm. Cash awards will be given for Best in Show and three Awards of Excellence.
Throughout the show, Local Color will present painting demonstrations by accomplished national plein air painters. Demonstrations will be held at the Tidewater Inn. All demos are free and open to the public. Demonstrations will be conducted as follows:
- Friday, July 19, 1-3pm . . . Painting Demonstration by Hui Lai Chong from Rockville MD. Chong was the Grand Prize Winner and Artists Choice Winner at Plein Air–Easton! 2012. She is the Awards Judge for Local Color 2013.

Local Color is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be open Friday, July 19 from 12-6pm, Saturday, July 20 from 10am-8pm, and Sunday, July 21 from 10am-4pm. Sold paintings will be replaced with new ones; be sure to stop by several times throughout the weekend.
Plein Air–Easton! is the work of the Avalon Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide diversified arts and educational programs that improve the quality of life in the Mid-Shore region.
