For the next few days, the Spy will share with our readers the video highlights of the recent League of Women Forum with MD-1 Congressman Andy Harris and his Democratic opponent Heather Mizeur. Last week, the event was held at Kent Island High School in Queen Anne’s County.
The video segments will include opening statements, LWV questions, s representative number of questions submitted by the audience, and closing statements.
We continue with their discussion of how the federal government managed the COVID pandemic and their views on how to prevent future disease outbreaks of this magnitude in the future.

In this segment however, blaming the Democrats for criticizing Trump’s lack of leadership on COVID-19, seems a real stretch even for Harris, who had no real answer.

Thank you to the Talbot Spy for highlighting these important issues. While I agree with and appreciate Mrs. Mizeur’s rhetoric I find it difficult to understand how anyone would support the Democratic Party after what we have witnessed over the past few years. The people have lost faith in our institutions, politicians, media and experts for reasons too numerous to list but here are a few examples:
The Russia collusion hoax, the fine people hoax,
the drinking bleach hoax, support of massive protests during the beginning of the pandemic, the largest transfer of wealth from small business owners to big corporations in history, masking small children for years, keeping public schools shut while private schools were open, holding off on the vaccine rollout until after the 2020 election,
vaccine mandates with no data on transmission, no boarder security when fentanyl is the leading cause of death among our younge people (if you didn’t know by now China is supplying the Mexican cartels with the crude chemicals), billions to Ukraine without transparency, changing election laws unconstitutionally, focusing on skin color instead of character at every turn, sabotaging our energy independendence, big tech working with factions of our government to censor opposing views… shall I go on?
When no one trusts the ‘experts’ they are left with no choice but to pick a team. It was all we had left. But as the fog clears we need to move forward to rebuild the public trust. The elite class who rode out the past few years with their laptops in comfortable homes, their children tucked away in private schools may be surprised to learn that the deplorables they so look down upon have been paying attention.

charmed by the fear and the frenzy of non truths
that they don’t realize how had they are. Totally bought and paid for. Listen to Fox for 5 minutes and one’s
skin crawls, if one has any mental compactly for
introspection. Political differences that people can simply
disagree on, such as how much to spend on education, is one thing. Taking women’s heath care decisions away and criminalizing it, banning books featuring gay characters, demonizing political opponents…
all in order to rev up a base of uneducated bigots and
those who benefit financially. You know, the greedy class that laughs at “their GOP bigots” but runs to the bank laughing. This is your Party. How pathetic has one
