The fall migration of Mega Yachts heading south on the Chesapeake Bay is in full swing as the vessels are moved to warmer climates for the winter.
The mega yacht Silver Shalis was anchored off St. Michaels Harbor today. The 174-foot vessel is powered by twin V-16 diesel and is capable of speed up to 23 knots. It was built by Delta Yachts of Seattle and carries 14,000 gallons of fuel. The yacht has a range of 3,400 miles at 12 knots.
The boat has been spotted moving south on the Chesapeake having passed through the C & D Canal on Oct. 7 and was seen on the Chester River on Monday.
The 147-foot Cracker Bay was tied up today at the St. Michaels Marina. The 2002 yacht can accommodate 12 guests with a crew of nine.
