A new Mystery History photo for readers – we had a bit of a mystery with our own history yesterday, and put up the same photo from week 3. Here’s a new one for this week. Can you recognize this Talbot County landmark? This photo was taken in the 1930s. Send your answer to [email protected]. The Spy Agents who got it right last week are listed below.
First place winner from last week was Spy Agent Gary Saluti, who said “It is the old main street on Tilghman. You can see the bank (second from the right) which is now Gary Crawford’s book store.”
The second Spy Agent who got the answer right was Claiborne’s Barbara Reisert, who said – “I do believe this is “Main Street” Tilghman Island, where the old bank (now a book store) is located.”
Our third winner was Chester Burnett, who guessed “Tilghman, site of the Waterman’s Museum & the book store?” You got it, Chester!

That would be the Miles River Yacht Club a few years back. You can see a boat mast in the background and a 10 oz. Bud can in the yard. I’ll share an aerial view from the late 30’s or early 40’s if you want it.
