The Washington Post’s Greg Masters reported on Saturday that Governor Martin O’Malley has decided to increase the “Flush Tax” by 150 percent under a new proposal his administration is discussing with lawmakers.
The change marks a reversal for the Governor who said it was unfair to make a widow in Baltimore pay the same amount as the owner of a mansion. But after hearing from business associations and other opponents, O’Malley concluded that his plan was unworkable.
