Monday, April 22 is the deadline to enter the 7th Annual Local Color Art Show and Sale. Local Color will be held at the Tidewater Inn, located at 101 E. Dover St. in historic downtown Easton, from Friday, July 19 through Sunday, July 21. Local Color is sponsored by the Working Artists Forum, and is a primary component of the Plein Air–Easton! Competition & Arts Festival, to be held July 15-21, 2013. Local Color includes paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel. Local Color is a juried and judged show open exclusively to artists residing on the Delmarva Peninsula (Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia) and to members of the Working Artists Forum.
Local Color features the best work of local artists in studio finished paintings depicting any subject matter. The list of accepted artists will be announced June 1.
Awards will be presented at a Judge’s Presentation and Reception on Friday, July 19, from 12-1pm. Cash awards will be given for Best in Show and three Awards of Excellence.

Youth Art Educators Applications Due by April 30
Tuesday, April 30 is the deadline for applications from youth art educators to participate in this year’s expanded Plein Air–Easton! children’s arts programming during Plein Air–Easton! The Next Generation, which will take place on Sunday, July 21, 2013, from 10:30am to 1:30pm. This event will provide students with hands-on experience and high quality art education showcasing children creating art. The day will be comprised of a series of workshops and art-related stations held outdoors in downtown Easton for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Youth art educators must complete an application outlining proposed programming. Applications are available online at www.pleinaireaston.com. Completed applications should be emailed to Colleen Brighton at [email protected]. All applications must be submitted by 5:00EST on April 30. Selected educators will be notified by May 15, 2013.
