Batten down the hatches and put on your dancing shoes! The legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band is returning to the Avalon on Wednesday, October 19, with a heaping helping of crowd-pleasing Dixieland jazz.
In addition to performing regularly in their famed Preservation Hall in New Orleans’ French Quarter, the band tours the world on a mission to keep the joyous spirit of timeless jazz alive and jumping. Founded in 1961, the group’s originators jammed with jazz pioneers like Jelly Roll Morton and Louis Armstrong. Today’s incarnation collaborates with the likes of Tom Waites, Richie Havens, Pete Seeger, Lenny Kravitz, and Mos Def.
A long-standing favorite among Avalon patrons, tickets usually go fast for this high-energy show, so be sure to get yours early!
