The Talbot County Visual Arts Center experienced severe flooding from the recent horrific storm on Sunday, August 26th. The arts center, located in the Easton MD, Talbot Town shopping center, was flooded with 2 feet of water, causing extensive damage. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, the Talbot County Visual Arts Center gallery will be closed and our office will move to a temporary part time location, as we work on “rehab” and cleanup of our space.
Jackie Pfaff-Pratt, president of the Talbot County Visual Arts Center comments: “We are a strong, vital and important local community arts organization with a wonderful volunteer membership. The flooding set us back, we are down but not out. We are grateful for all the support we have received from our volunteer members and the local community during this difficult time. I wish to personally thank my board members for their tireless support and commitment of time as we move forward to rebuild the center. I extend a special thank you to the Talbot County Arts Council for their unwavering support, advice and use of temporary office space. I also wish to thank the Talbot Town shopping center management for their prompt and efficient response to the flooding.”
The visual arts center’s temporary part time office will be in the Talbot County Arts Council offices, located in the Talbot County Board of Elections Building at 142 North Harrison St. Easton MD 21601.
Office hours are Fridays from 11 am – 4 pm. For general inquiries, please contact us by email at [email protected]
