Acting instructor and director Douglas Farwell is offering an opportunity for actors to study legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner’s acting technique at the Avalon Theater in Easton, MD.
Actors will be introduced to the process of working truthfully through imaginary circumstances. Students learn how to observe, to listen, to concentrate and to work moment to moment through their imagination to express authentic emotions. At the conclusion of the course, students will be cast in a late spring 2015 play to be produced at the Avalon Theater. This class is open to actors of all levels and is suitable for directors.
Douglas Farwell is an acting teacher, commercial/theater director residing in Connecticut. He has taught at the university level, the Neighborhood Playhouse and through his private studio for over ten years. Doug trained as an acting teacher under master instructor, Kathryn Gately, who trained with Sanford Meisner at Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. He received his MFA from the Professional Actor Training Program at Northern Illinois University. Doug is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
Doug has taught, coached and directed actors working in television and feature films.
