The Chester River Health Foundation recently hosted “Shoot for the Stars”, a casino night fundraiser to help fund the creation of an outdoor healing garden at Chester River Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The Las Vegas-themed event, held at the Garfield Center for the Arts at Prince Theatre in Chestertown, netted $15,000 for the project, which will expand the functional activity space for the Center’s residents. Guests enjoyed sumptuous hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts while dancing to the golden voice of “Daddy O,” local attorney Dan Saunders. In addition, they were treated to a performance by “The King” of Las Vegas himself, Elvis, who made a special trip to Chestertown for the event. For more information about the healing garden or how you can assist with the project, contact the Chester River Health Foundation at 410-810-5661 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
