The most important part of last night’s Easton Town Council meeting was the announcement by Robert Willey that Robert Karge, Easton’s long serving town manager will be stepping down at the end of the calendar year. Karge, a native of Easton, considered his tenure as the town’s administrator his greatest professional honor. He indicated that he would be sharing with the Town Council his plans for the future in the months ahead of his actual retirement date.
The Town Council heard a summary of the FY16-17 budget for Easton by Mayor Willey. Based on projected revenue for next year, the proposed budget reflects a 7.5% decrease from the current budget.
